Shield
Green is used for Armor. The wavy band is from the Arms of the Rheinprovinz, and indicates service in that area and in Central Europe, while the fleur-de-lis is for service in France and the citation for Colleville. The rampant lion from the Arms of Belgium represents the citation for Mons Eupen-Malmedy. The canton represents descent from the 745th Tank Battalion from which these honors were inherited, seven being represented by the septfoil, four by the square, and five by the star.
Crest
The Siegfried Line is symbolized by a dragon, the collar about his throat signifying the capture of the line resulting from its breaching by Armor units. The morning star, a type of medieval war club, alludes to the reduction of the city of Aachen.
